Computer-Assisted Semen Quality Analysis to Enhance Animal Production Efficiency

On July 22, 2026, the Scientific Instruments Division acted as the guest speaker at a hands-on workshop titled “Computer-Assisted Semen Quality Analysis to Enhance Animal Production Efficiency,” which was held at the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology, Kalasin University.

 

During the event, the team of speakers shared knowledge on the principles and technology behind Computer-Assisted Sperm Analysis (CASA) for evaluating animal semen quality. They also introduced practical applications of this technology in research and animal reproductive management, intending to improve its standard, accuracy, and efficiency of semen quality assessment.

 

In addition, a hands-on workshop was conducted, providing participants, including lecturers, researchers, students, and representatives from private companies, with the opportunity to learn and practice semen quality analysis using actual analytical equipment and software. Participants performed semen assessments on various animal species, including chickens and giant catfish.

 

The workshop was designed to enhance participants’ knowledge, understanding, and practical skills in using CASA technology, enabling them to apply these techniques effectively in education, research, and professional practice in the near future.
