Trimble R12i GNSS Training to EGAT staffs at Thathungna Dam, Kanchanaburi

It has been an honor for our Surveying Division that the Electricity Generation Authority of Thailand (EGAT) invited our professional technical staff to be trainers of Trimble R12i GNSS at Thathungna Dam, Kanchanaburi.

The training course starts with a Q&A section about the “How To” topic – how to use Trimble R12i under EGAT missions, how to check the accuracy of positions, and how to set the coordinate system parameter and choose correctly before going into the field. Our company’s staff guided 1-1 to ensure that the training participants will be able to use and apply the knowledge gained to their work completely.

There is also Trimble R12i field testing. EGAT allowed us to use the control point at the dam ridge to test the accuracy. The test was done in both RTK mode with radio signals and the internet method from the GNSS network, both in vertical and inclination mode (IMU Tilt). All Trimble R12i 6 units were tested on the same spot 3 times each and did the comparison. The results showed there were only 0.8-1.0 cm. different.
